Our 2020 knitting pattern launches Friday August 28 on Ravelry.
“Eutrochium” is a delightful sock pattern created by ash alberg of sunflower knit and generously gifted to the Manitoba Fibre Festival.
We are very pleased to announce that all proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be donated to One Nation Exchange in Winnipeg. One Nation Exchange (O.N.E.) is a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting unity by creating opportunities for intercultural experiences, training & employment for women representative of Canada’s diverse cultures. It is an honour to support their vision in this way.

The sock yarn used for the sample is a true prairie product/Pembina fibreshed collaboration. using prairie Corriedale wool, spun at Long Way Homestead, and dyed by ash in the heart of Winnipeg using goldenrod foraged up at Winnipeg Beach. The green is obtained from an exhausted dye pot with the addition of iron after a first bath resulting in a golden skein.
These socks are designed to fit an 8-9″ foot circumference, with a customizable foot length, and the pattern is intended to be unisex.
Check out all the great Festival indie dyers and yarn vendors for the perfect sock yarns or a batt of fibre to spin your own yarn for Eutrochium. Here are a few suggestions:
