New Vendor Profile: Sandra Sobkowich Wiebe (The Loom Room)
Sandra has been weaving, spinning, dyeing, and creating her works of art since the 1970s. Her work includes a multitude of threads, fibres and anything weavable. You will see over 100 different type and colours of threads in each piece- from her one of a kind scarves and shawls, to capes and ponchos, and wallhangings. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.

Sandra uses cottons, linens, silks, metallic, wools and mohairs, with some wearable art pieces wool free for those people with allergies.
Her pieces have been displayed, sold, and have travelled the globe and she has won numerous awards for her weaving, provincially, nationally and internationally. Sandra is also a prolific photographer, drawer and painter and uses these media to help inspire her in her weaving.

Working in her home studio you will find her winding warps on her warping mill with piles of threads in a multitude of colours surrounding her, like a painter’s palette. Colour and texture are the joie de vivre in Sandra’s work!
