Shirley became interested in the fibre arts over the last couple of years. It appeared as if weaving on a loom had become a lost art, but Shirley has since discovered there are a number of weavers that still practice this art form. She is excited to learn more about weaving and teach others about this craft!
From the colour palettes to the choice of wood that the weavings hang from, nature is a huge source of inspiration for Shirley’s weavings. Custom work can be done with a colour palette of the client’s choice and a design in mind that fits in the space where the piece will hang.
Emerald Clouds is one of Shirley’s favourite pieces she has created so far. Shirley enjoys utilizing varying shades of green in a lot of her pieces.
You can find WSC on the Fibre Trail this year at Wolseley Wool on September 18th and St. Norbert Market on September 19th.
