Connect the dots with your fibre materials with the Festival’s agricultural programming, including live animals, our popular Wool Show & Sale, demonstrations, Fibre Farmer chats, and more!
“When we take our lead from the land, many textile possibilities begin to present themselves.”

Hall of Breeds
We love helping visitors make the connection between land, animals, agriculture and the clothes we wear, and one of the best ways to achieve that is through meeting the fibre animals themselves!
Please treat the animals with respect and move and speak calmly around them. The animals have very specific dietary needs - do not feed them anything as it may upset their complex digestive systems.
No dogs are allowed in the Red Barn. No matter how well behaved your pet, their presence is perceived as a threat by these gentle prey animals far from the protection of their home flock, and we must spare them that stress.

Stay tuned for the announcement later this summer!

Thank you to the farmers who make the display possible! It is a big commitment of time and resources to bring their cherished animals to the Festival.
The 2025 Hall of Breeds participants will be announced later this summer.
Wool Show & Sale
One of our most popular events, the annual Wool Show & Sale is an opportunity for fibre farmers to show off their best fleeces and for makers to purchase high-quality raw fleece!
Raw fleece can be used for crafts including felting and spinning.
Breed of the Year
Beginning in 2023, the Festival began highlighting a specific breed of fibre animal each year as part of our educational content. Learn more about current and past Breeds of the Year!
